Issue with RSS Feed

October 11, 2011 at 01:51 AM posted in General DiscussionHey is anyone else having issues with the RSS feed? I am unable to sync with CPod from iTunes and when I click my RSS feed button on my dashboard it says the page does not exist.
I wanted to send a message to the help desk, but it says to login to send a message if you are a registered user. I tried and then it said I don't exist (or my email address doesn't exist to be more precise). It seems that login is disconnected from the main site login because I can login here fine. Strange happenings.

Hi everybody
I have having the same issue. No new lessons since October 7th - Thought I was going crazy.
I tried logging out and then logging in again. Took the latest ITunes URl but it is not working in my Itunes.
Any ideas?
Thanks

I have the same problem as kglassey and byronmeinerth. Since Oct 9th iTunes has not been able to get new lessons, and feed address suggested on Dashboard/Subscription Settings is exactly the same iTunes says "address not found at server"
Please correct this issue quickly, for me iTunes to iPhone is the best way to use CP!!

I have the same issue with iTunes and John B and Jenny's suggestion of logging out and logging back in to get a new feed address does not work. It still gives me the same address that iTunes says doesn't exist.

kglassy, byronmeinerth,
I've just emailed the email address associated with your account with the feed address that you should be using (which works for me) and asking for more information if it's not working. My apologies again for the inconvenience.

Just to clarify for the CP staff, this is the issue I'm having. I'm just going to listen directly to the podcasts I want on the website for now.

Is there any chance to get a new address? I use iTunes, and mine still isn't working. Thanks

We are very sorry about it! It seems that during the system outage a couple of days ago some users' RSS feed addresses changed. It doesn't appear to be everyone's, but it was a significant portion.
To fix this issue, please log out and log back in again, and then get the feed address from your Dashboard (it will be different than your old one). If you're using iTunes, you will need to change the address that your subscription is pointing toward.
(The loss of avatar seems to be a related issue. Some users avatars are lost and we are trying to recover them.)
We are very embarrassed by how we have treated our users. We have caused you so much inconvenience and trouble. I sincerely apologize! We are all working hard to stabilize and improve the site.

Same issue for me too.
I've got "This page does not exist" when I look for the page of the RSS feed.

Hi cinnamonfern,
I just tested your account and was able to retrieve the RSS feed normally. Can you please email me at john.biesnecker@chinesepod.com so I can send you the link that I was using, etc. I don't want to post your private feed URL publicly.
Sorry for the confusion!

No worries John! I just tried it again, and the RSS feed link seems to be working fine now. I'm not sure what the issue was last night, but whatever it was it seems to be all better now. Thanks!
