October 9, 2007 at 7:12 AMLantian, I guess your right, even after I wrote about being busy I was thinking to myself they both work in there own right. I guess 忙 is more of a round about way to saying you can't do something. Or atleast a more "western" way of saying that. In the end both work if you are trying not to give details. This of course depends on weather or not you want to actually do something with the person who is asking you to hang out :)

The thing that I would call into question about this lesson is the saying 我有事。I think that it would be even more polite to say 對不起，明天我很忙 (duibuqi, ming2tian1 wo3 hen3 mang2) which means sorry, tomorrow I am busy. From talking with native speakers I hear 忙(mang2) much more often that 事(shi4). 高健

October 8, 2007 at 6:40 PMbabliku: 吃豆腐 can have a few meanings but I have never heard it used to refer to the butt or chest. Butt in chinese is 屁股 (pi4gu) and chest is 乳房 (ru3fang2). 高健 Jake
