"玩游戏 wan2 you2xi4 " is aslo correct. But "打游戏da3 you2xi4" is more commonly used.
I guess that's may because game is also a kind of sports, so we can "打球da3 qiu2" and also "打游戏da3 you2 xi4" . But I am not sure. :-)

Thanks for your excellent explanation.
But I think in the sentence:
我在烤面包。Wo3 zai4 kao3 mian4bao1. I am baking bread.
The meaning of zai4 is "right now", it's an adverb here, and works as a mark of Present Continuous Tense. Because in this sentence, "kao3 mian4 bao1"is the predicate, "kao3" is a verb, so the meanning of "is/am/are" is not a must in the sentence. zai4 serves as an adverb to modifiy the predicate "kao3 mian4 bao" to indicate the time.

“哭个不停”的“个”和“看得清楚”的“得”作用差不多，都是连接动词和补语的。后面的“不停”是形容“哭”的样子。
