Yes, you are right. When the neutral tone follows a 3rd tone, it sounds like the 1st tone, but not as high as the 1st tone. Actualy the first tone is 55 and the neutral tone after the 3rd tone is 44 in the pinyin tone Chart.

'我愛死她了 ' is correct traslation, but not romantic at all, "...死了" is very casual and exaggerated language.
I translated the poetic lyric like this: 我爱她，至死方休。 '至死方休' is a Chengyu, which means never rest until the dying day.
