You are right. Strictly speaking, babies born after立春 are of the sign of new year. But even Chinese may be confused in this situation. My sister was born between 立春 and 春节，she insists that she is a tiger, because it sounds younger than an ox, but we always laugh at her 装嫩 （which means to pretend to be younger than actual age) .

The two predicates are always identical, you can say 让你跳你就跳。 or 让你问你就问。 But 让你跳就问”多高？” is not correct.
