The Ukraine girl replied to the question in full Ukrainien.

The Philippine girl replied entirely in English.

The Chinese give his response totally in Chinese ... except for the last word: "understanding".

I am sure that there is a word in Chinese for “understanding” and I am sure that this beautiful Chinese girl (wow, she is so tall...) had the choice to speak in English if she wanted.

I think that mixing language is a girl habit and doesn't concern only Chinese. I have noticed in other cultures.

But what would be the right chinese world to use in place of "understanding" ? 理解, 諒解 還是通達?

I think the question and answer of the Chinese Miss universe should be the subject of an intermediate lesson. What do you think Cpod eam? Good idea?

A propos de dictionaire, le meilleur sur le net est www.mdbg.net. C'est dumoins celui que je prefere. Utilises tu un autre?

D'autre part, j'aimerai avoir ton avis sur ce qui suit: comment ecris tu en chinois sur WXP ou W7? J'y arrive tres bien sur XP, impossible sur W7.

J'ai l'impression que comme moi tu utilises ta deuxieme langue, l'anglais, pour apprendre une troisieme, le chinois. Longtemps j'ai cru que j'etais le seul.

if "Francisco" to "Paco" and "William" to "Bill" 不是簡稱, 怎麼上海 to 滬 是簡稱?

The first sentence on the Expansion page is : 上海簡稱滬

我 覺得 "上海" 和 "滬" 不 一樣.

What do you think about it?

I really love it. I have always imagined learning using videos showing live conversations. It's a first step in that direction.

Is it possible to have subtitled jenny and John conversation? In traditional characters? I know I am asking too much. Great improvement anyway.

Last thing: I always thought that Jenny’s voice (so English) doesn't match her face (so Asian). Now I know I am wrong :-). See Jenny speaking is an enjoyment.
