May 4, 2011 at 7:41 PMAt the time of the famous Tang dynasty (7th-early 10th century), the capital Chang'An was the largest city in the world. The city was divided by 朱雀 大街 (over 150 meters wide, wider than the Champs Elysee in Paris) in the 2 sides of the city, there are two commercial districts, respectively called 東市and 西市, where people could find all the things . They said 買東西, this is where the origin of 東西 come from.
This picture shows the layout plan of the city of Chang'an (now Xi An). Some Japanese town is built on the model of Chang'an.

In the vocabulary page, fu4huo2jie2 is written 複活節 instead of 復活節 (traditional characters). As 複 and 復 could mean "repeat" or "return", is it and error?

It seems to me that 叫 in the sentence 明天叫你媽媽來學校 has the same function as the 把 particle.
I could say 明天把你媽媽來學校.
The two sentences have the same meaning for me.
Am I right?

By the way, I was looking at the movie 生日快樂 - a tender movie with 劉若英, so cute when she is not crying. In this movie 小米(劉若英) was asking her grand mother :
"婆婆, 梅菜悶苦瓜 是 用 生抽 還是 老抽?"
Granny, do you want your 梅菜悶苦瓜 with 生抽 or 老抽?
I think that 梅菜悶苦瓜 is a kind of cabbage, but what are the 生抽 and the 老抽?

廣場上好多人都在堆雪人，打雪仗呢。
the character 呢 is used to mean "and". So using the same pattern can say :
" 我有的帽子上我頭,我兩手在口袋裡呢."
"I have my hat on my head and my hands in my pockets."
?
