July 3, 2007 at 2:01 AMHi, I really loved this lesson and the interview style. What a great way to hear 'natural' Chinese. I was impressed that I could follow the whole conversation, even with ZiHeng speaking at a natural speed and both of them occasionally overlapping in speech. This reminds me of the Advanced lesson about Chinese New Year where you also did interviews. This is a very welcome change from the standard dialogs. I think it'd be great to have interviews with people of different ages and backgrounds - children, older people, teenagers, etc. The topics can be very simple, but it is useful to hear how different 'generations' talk. Along those lines, you could also interview people from different areas of China to expose us to more accents and colloquialisms. Thanks for a great lesson!

June 17, 2007 at 4:14 AMHi, nice lesson! I have a question - I know that some two-word verbs are reduplicated in AAB form: 聊天:我想跟你聊聊天。 But some must be in ABAB form: 休息: 今天是星期天,咱们休息休息。 Is there a key difference? I know that 聊 could also be used on its own to mean 'chat' - that seems to be the reason, but not sure. Also could you provide a few more examples of the two-word verbs that are used in AAB and ABAB form? Thanks!

June 9, 2007 at 2:38 AMI have a request - can you add the English translation to the popups on the dialogue and expansion sentences, just like with the other lessons? It seems like you did this for the previous Advanced lesson (coffee chains). Thanks!

June 5, 2007 at 9:33 AMAmber - 非常感谢。你的解答很有用。我本来以为‘确认’就是一个比较正式的说法。没想到他们的用法有很大的不同。

August 29, 2007 at 7:03 AMHi, I'm having trouble using the Play button in the Vocab/Dialogue/Extension section. Seems to be similar to the problem a few days ago when you updated the lesson pages and home page, though now I can use the actual player.
