chán zhè ge zì hěn nán jiěshì ，tā shì yīzhǒng zhìhuì ，érqiě yǒuzhe fēicháng shēn fēicháng guǎng de yìyì 。wǒ lái shuō yī gè xiǎo gùshi ba ，kàn nǐ néngbùnéng míngbai 。Dámó shì Zhōngguó chánzōng zǔshī ，yǒu yī tiān tā wèn zìjǐ de dìzǐ ：yī dī shuǐ zěnyàng cái néng bù gānhé ？dìzǐ men xiǎngláixiǎngqù a ，dōu huídá bù chū 。

This word is very difficult to explain. It's a kind of way of approaching things. It's both very deep and very broad. I'll tell you a story and see if you understand. Once there was a Chan master named Bodhidharma. One day he asked his pupils, 'How could a single drop of water never dry up'? His pupils thought about it long and hard, but none of them could come up with an answer.

问得好！以前，只有贵族子弟才有权利受教育，但孔子认为，教育应该不分贵贱，不分国界，每个人都有受教育的权利。所以他创办了私塾，培养人才。据说他有弟子三千，可以说是“桃李满天下”！

wèn de hǎo ！yǐqián ，zhǐyǒu guìzú zǐdì cái yǒu quánlì shòu jiàoyù ，dàn Kǒngzǐ rènwéi ，jiàoyù yīnggāi bùfēn guì jiàn ，bùfēn guójiè ，měi ge rén dōu yǒu shòu jiàoyù de quánlì 。suǒyǐ tā chuàngbàn le sīshú ，péiyǎng réncái 。jùshuō tā yǒu dìzǐ sānqiān ，kěyǐ shuō shì “táolǐ mǎn tiānxià ”！

Good question! In the past, only the sons of noblemen had the right to an education. However, Confucius believed that education shouldn't be provided based on economic status or political borders and that everyone had the right to an education. Therefore, he established a private school in order to cultivate people's talents. It's said that he had over 3,000 disciples. You could say that he had tons of disciples from all over the place!
