I was on vacation and since I came back a week ago, it has been non-stop: spring golf tournament for 2 days, then play-off, I almost wished I was disqualified so I could dive to my bed for an entire day. In short, I was 2nd place: over 100 participants, 200 some co-ed wise. Finally recovered from my fatigue of the journey: NYC to Ithaca, NY. Even though the Big Apple was so exciting in cultures, cuisines, and activities, but through the st Patrick Parade crowd and then up to Cornell University (family birthday), there was high wind, occasional rain, eventually heavy snow, I am glad to be back to my beloved sunshine state. I checked my mail, for once I did not find the topic of Chinese pod very interesting, rather a trace of sadness mixed with perplexities. Forgive my ignorance, away from China too long as part of the reasoning, I understand the shortage of milk powder in China due to some corrupted, criminal merchants. Help me understand, why #1 country in the world (already a threat to #1 USA) can't go to the origin of the problem, to have better quality control, tighter food and drug inspection. I fail to see the value teaching foreign friends Chinese language with this non-aesthetic topic. Good night, Queensland! I am in my Spring Break, planning on my summer trip, China?Taiwan? To live is to travel. World peace and safety to all.

Good morning, Mr baba,

Like Sherlock Holmes, you made brilliant deductions.

All I can say is: it is wonderful to know there are people who love to learn, then there are some who love to teach, we switch roles sometimes, that is how the world is going around. 俗語說:教學相長。関於我的現址,let me use Confucius saying since we have a common ground and common interest: 中文 ," 四海之內,皆兄弟 ",take care, brother!

Hi baba: Do you happen to play golf? On the golf course, we often say: golfing is a humbling game...translates as: 髙爾夫球是令人謙虛的運動。因為你正在自我得意球技有進步,隔不多天,球又打得不滿意了。今天跟朋友打球, 想起這句話。別州都很冷,有的地方冰天雪地,我們這兒是capital of golf, sunshine state, 75 degrees F。

Give one more humbly college fight for you. Rosa 髙宗玉

Ok, baba, give you a simple example about the usage of humbling...

When somebody is considered the best in your field, he still asks the advice from you and the other colleagues, you may say: 這位先生又能幹又謙虛,很難得。hope this helps a bit.

They can whip up a respectful meal at a reasonable price. That is what american likes.

Hi bohan: delicacy is 佳餚,noun。 lobsters, lambs, ducks, Iowa beef are few examples used in such catagory--物以稀為貴(think of delicate, rare 稀,expensive 貴, dishes)

Happy Chinese experience! Rosa GAO Magliola 髙宗玉,USF
