June 27, 2013 at 12:36 AMI assume you would like to know the patterns of present perfect tense (grammatically) by using the 了as in 完了(please note the differences between 完 wan and 定 din-- meaning certain):
你吃飯了嗎?
我吃飯了。
你信寫好了嗎？
我信寫好了。
你到家了嗎？
我到家了。
Just use it whenever you have the chance, they become yours...

June 26, 2013 at 2:49 PMFirst of all, I do want to compliment your Chinese. You have great sense of 語感。sometimes, I go way back to review what you guys have discussed, I can't help to polish a bit (old habit of being teacher too long.)
For example: it is better for you to say--Jason day 跟我曾經先後在同一亇髙爾夫球場打球。I hope you don't mind me correcting. Because I don't mind if you never see this as long as one person has. Nothing wrong with your sentence but a little 不順口，keep flowing is important, use precise words, not one more or one less!

June 25, 2013 at 9:53 PM亇is the most commonly used unit. It is non-specific, therefore very safe, generic in nature. I.e. 我昨天見到了一亇老朋友，or 一位is more formal. Or saleslady may ask you: "你要幾亇?＂，apples, bananas⋯

June 25, 2013 at 8:46 AM奌菜和奌煙，the same 奌both are verbs, yet different actions； the former order, literally use the finger pointing the menu for the choice of dishes, the latter lit is the action of striking a match ...Chinese describes fire started with a star of fire, very small to begin with thus 奌火(point fire) indicate the motion of initiate the fire. In the literature：星星之火，足以燎原。le is only to show the tense (in grammar ), the present perfect tense ：現在完成式，He has just lit a cigarette. 了is the sense of complete as in 完了。hope this may clear a bit.

June 25, 2013 at 8:14 AMRight, because 份means the portion for a person：人and 分combined。飲料Is served in a glass most of times, thus you order by 一杯or 一亇，ie一杯茶，一杯咖啡。to bartender, you may say 一瓶青島啤酒，or simply 一亇威斯基，一亇芧台⋯

The Chinese curse often involved the breeding of the person. If a person is below human race, I.e. a turtle is already an insult, then an egg is even worse, not even quite formed...
Words of caution: never ever use it. 混蛋 is more acceptable. Means rotten egg.

June 14, 2013 at 2:30 PMmmm⋯we need to trace back to 2010 to answer this question. By now you may already know how powerful 太太is in Chinese family structure. I alway tell my student 太太is bigger than 大，because there is an extra dot 、in 大, conclusively 太太is bigger than big 大。ha ha :@)

Even though it emphasized on US immigration policy and the America of the future, it did in part touch the above point: immigrants should learn English or not. Conclusively, if you plan to come to America, it is your advantage to be able to communicate with people around you, professionally or non-professionally. 至於北京髙考，我不能評論，因為我是台灣長大的所謂最後一代的大陸人，我只能以亇人的經驗同意每人的志趣不一，在台灣髙考不是像中國那麼緊要去就業，而是你大學修的科目，和科目相関的語言訓練更為重要，例如你修外文，當然英文优良是佔上風的，同理西班牙文成績好，或德文或西班牙語很有水準対
出國或當地就業都有利。my humble opinion is do not force student to learn what he is not interested in, when one likes a topic with passion, one will study with passion. The essence of successful education.
