I have used Chinese shop front dentist in Xiamen for the past 5 years, I have a full set of front crowns, not a problem workmanship was good. The shop front was part of the dental hospital complex.

Over the years I have seen some very crude dentistry in small country towns, and market places. I could see why you would only go as a last resorrt !!! almost blacksmith style dentistry Ha Ha

Dashboard is "Geek talk " for user interface on computer applications

see Wiki ......Dashboard is an application for Apple's Mac OS X operating systems, used for hosting mini-applications known as widgets. First introduced in Tiger, it is a semi-transparent layer that is invisible to the user unless activated by clicking its icon in the Dock. Alternatively, the user can invoke Dashboard by moving the cursor into a preassigned hot corner, by pressing a hot key, or mouse button, any of which can be set to the user's preference.

As a newbie I always studied up to the upper Intermediate level, listened and read. Although it was beyond me it always had something I could learn.

Yes we do have enough leasons in Newbie so may be it is time to find other ways to help to learn faster, I always liked Ken and Jenny word reviews at the end of each lesson, I replayed them very often.

The style of each level also gives you better comprehension.

It is just my memory that is at fault, I hit the replay button in the head but I think it often resets to default?? BLANK!!

To poddies in Australia. Twice per day SBS has Chinese news in Mandarin and Cantonese. They also have movies a few times a month.

Chinese TV can also bee found on the WEB but it is not live.

Okay we have another change @CP this is not new, we must progress or die!!

lets see how it goes, as Matt@ said give it a chance!!

It is true there are a lot of drivel posts, I can skip over them as I wish.

But I do enjoy much of the off track posts, and relate to many of the discussions, it is my Sunday morning therapy.

I also find the cultural posts, debates, and other discussions the most interesting.

One more vote for Henning's idea here.

We can also rate our own posts, with a heading in the meantime

Ken your comments are correct about Dongbei, great place great great people. They do like a drink!!

Re 小姐

I have found it has been accepted all over China to address young girls.Used in the correct context I think there is no problem with its use. I know many Dongbei girls and they take no offence to its use, and they also use the term when addressing each other.
