Another famous line from Caddyshack is: "Be the ball, Danny".

I think a similar questions came up on anther lesson.  How would it translate to Chinese?

成为这个球, Danny.

cheng2wei2 zhe4 ge4 qiu2, Danny.

Does this make any sense in Chinese.

jp,

very good....you're a fan.  The boys happen to be on NPR as I write (oops missed it that was last hour...guess I got to go to the web site).

Before you move out I recommend you run it by Click and Clack's attorneys "Dewey, Cheatem, and How".

Who can beat a show that advises you to put black tape over your gas gage instead of fixing it?

I like the real life conversation speed.  Now I'm interested in listening to the Newbie lessons as it tests listening comprehension.

The first text book I bought was a pinyin only book that used the phrase:

"guang4 le guang4"  I assume it's 逛了逛。I believe it means to wander around (I gave the book away so I can't look it up).

Could I say, “这个周末Jenny 会逛了逛“.."this weekend Jenny will wander around."?

jackie,

There is no such thing as a free lunch.  As 6 month subscriber I would say this site offers value for money.

You can always access the service though the net to listen to the lessons.  The 1st 7 days of "Premium" are free.  Find your level and download all the content for 6 or 7 lessons.

Check it out.  You'll be back.

Talk about, heat, power outages, and internet melt downs, Xi'an is starting to look good compared to St. Louis, MO.  Tried to work from home and got shut down.

I'd love to hear an "Amber  / JP Show" live with "call in" questions.  For example, "Click and Clack: on NPR.  What would you give us for the "puzzler"?

1st: Connie is one of CPOD's best voice actors. I love hearing her Chinese: great voices, positive attitude, perfect pronunciation (how about listing credits?).  I think these traits come through in her English as well.

2nd: coolest Canadian was (and may still be) a guy named Yvan Cournoyer (I'm Bruin fan with the deepsest respect... I'd like to see Da Shan take a left turn around Bobby Orr).

3rd: bingge: Congrats...Wings looked great.

4th: I'd like the community to vote something like the "5th" player award.  In Hockey we called it the "7th" Player Award.  The award goes to the unsung member of the team that contributed to the team's success.

So, I nominate Connie.  Any other nominations?

user45384,

I am desperately awaiting the next installment of Wang's office.  I contend that Wang is going to be in for a rough ride due to office back stabbing.

My Chinese friend predicts Wang has a bag of tricks and will undermine the new boss, maintain balance of power, and eventually relegate the new boss.

Can't wait to see how it turns out.

seekeroftruth:

surprised nobody else has answered your question.  The character you want is slighly different.  It uses the "ren" radical indicating association with people.

High usage combinations.

我们,你们,他们。

You can type or paste the "men" character into the search section at the top of this page.  Hit search and you will see examples from other lessons.

Auntie,

They are going to fall in deep...it's going to be a field day...and we'll sit back and chuckle in disgust.

They could avoid a lot of this by spending a few hundred dollars per on air personality....but they are going to go right over the cliff with it.
