December 14, 2012 at 12:08 PMThe last line of the dialogue (那也不能进去。)(nà yě bù néng jìnqù。) is translated as “You still can't go In”. Can you replace yě with还 (hái) and have the same meaning or does the meaning change, or is this usage even correct?

I am curious about your experience. Also, while this is a simple sentence, I am still unsure of its structure and using the correct de particle, so any comments will be appreciated.

Pretty good for an inexpensive meal for my wife and I. It's good to know that I am not the only one who has eaten there.

November 16, 2012 at 12:43 PMThis lesson is relatively simple, but has enough to raise it to the lower-intermediate level. Some lessons are definitely harder than others, and many take time to come to grips with. Now that I am working with both intermediate and upper-intermediate lessons, I find that some appear to be out of reach, perhaps because the subject doen't interest me or have too much new vocabulary, whereas others are staight forward, but time consuming. A relatively simple lesson during the week that reinforces my ability to hear, read characters, and understand grammer makes for enjoyable learning without the work required to do more difficult lessons that are often posted the same week. While this lesson is staightforward, I am still waiting for the weekend to work on the last posted upper-intermediate lesson.

August 15, 2012 at 10:17 AMConfusion abounds in the different spellings and sometimes pronunciations for the same city. For example, Zhongli, Jhongli or Jungli, or perhaps Chungli of Taoyuan County, Taiwan, was confusing upon first encounter.

December 16, 2012 at 9:51 AMI continue to study at Beginning to Upper Intermediate level and get different things from each level. I learn at least one grammar or cultural tidbit from each lesson, no matter the level, as well as practicing the ability to hear spoken Chinese.
