Could someone provide me a link to a convenient online map of China in hanzi? Geography is still my greatest flaw. 顺便, you may have added a common expression for "Have a good trip" at the end of that dialogue... I only remember 一路平安 yī lù píng 'ān, what 2-zi words are there to say "bon voyage"?

For Dave's sake, the team should now remove Herrbradock's comment. Looking back on it looks a bit... funny indeed

Hi all ! Let me seize the opportunity to solve a lasting problem, 她对话前面在谈论关于 "随便" 的那个词, Jenny 讲了 "...什么都无所为" ("not... by anything") 也曾听说: "非我所为" ("It wasn't (done by) me") 谁可以替我了解这个格局的语法? 多谢!! Could anyone explain the "非 / 无 。。。 所为" pattern to me? I have a hard time with the classical uses of suǒ... 今天的话题非常有用 !!!

I checked "mellifluent" out in dictionary.com, it's actually recorded. Which is to the benefit of the language, I wish it could eventually rule out "mellifluous" which to me sounds baroque.

一三九七七号客户, 你好! 无名 users are so democratic ;) I second your opinion on the equal opportunity provided by Chinese (though it's entirely a foreign learner's point of view). I also agree, despite my being so fond of the sound of Japanese (that's about all I know about it), that Chinese has its own sublime. But I wouldn't link global dominance of a language to fashion or economics, no more than to the sheer demographics of its native speakers. Nor would I link its cultural evolution to it... "Language is not a superstructure on the base" (Stalin in Pravda, 1950). Sorry reference, but sound argument: language doesn't evolve according to shifts in the socio-economic status of speakers. But Chinese, however, will rule, thanks to its inner perfection...
