I agree with you!

@4:28”zhi yi ya”

The guy in the story is a disaster!

I plan on bringing my daughter to the Planetarium at the Orlando Science Center once the Orlando Chinese School is done for the Spring Semester.

I am very happy with their lessons after being away from the Chinese language for a long time. I am glad that they include Chinese expressions from Taiwan, Hong Kong as well as popular slangs. The language has evolved over the years with new configurations of characters for new technology and globalization.

The Chinese Pod staff has an excellent grasp of the language. Jenny has very good diction and is very creative in expressing herself. She and John make a good team with him taking care of the grammatical points.

I do not get the impression that they are particularly athletic. I am saying this because my son runs the marathon. He is presently taking up classes to become a certified personal trainer. He has always been hyperactive and athletic and has been involed in sports since he was 3 years old. My daughter on the other hand, is very fastidious and is more excited about dissecting frogs and pig's brain.

Learning a language means understanding its cultural and political background. I believe Chinese Pod is going to remain conservative in my lifetime.

Roper Y has a Youth Triathlon. Will give more info.

Guys, give Chinese Pod a break. They teach language, they are not coach or personal trainer. Perhaps you could write a series of dialogue in English and send it to them for reference, or work with them in a project?

I was born in the Philippines but was a Chinese citizen for a long time because the country did not grant citizenship by birthplace like the US. It was a stronghold of the Kuomintang party but my school has been symphatetic to Mainland China and our teacher, the late Mr. Ty Eng Lang got in trouble with the authorities because of that.

It was funny because we were supposed to dress up like Chinese which was kind of drab during the cold war. But then the ping pong diplomacy opened up China and Mrs. Ty Eng Lang got a perm when Madame Chiang Ching got one. Her hairstyle became the talk of the town.

I had 2 Chinese passports and visited 2 Chinese embassies and my class was invited to the Mainland Chinese Embassy and met the Consul. They also sent representatives to our school.

All Chinese schools were filipinized before diplomatic ties were established between Mainland China and the Philippines and Filipino citizenship was granted to many of us for political reasons. The Philippine government was afraid that we would become the fifth pillar. The younger generation of Filipino-Chinese now only has one Chinese subject in school.

My parents and sisters all visited our relatives in China. My husband and I planned to go but I got pregnant and then my American green card was approved and so here I am.

My regret is my father did not live long enough to watch the Beijing Olympics. He would have be so proud!

Last year during Halloween our neighborhood (Florida), a mother and her son (around 8 years old) were ran over by an SUV. The mother survived but the boy died. They did not use the pedestrial lane and it was dark so it was not the fault of the driver. It was a tragic accident.
