Noise travels easily in steel and concrete structures. Sometimes you can't tell where the sound is coming from. Also, unless it is meant to be a rental, it will be remodeled.

It seems everyone scans documents now. Can you give an update for this request. Such as "Please scan this document and send to my email account". My co-workers were arguing about what the proper chinese terminology should be.

I have never been asked to grant paternity leave. Maternity leave seems quite generous, but considering most workers tend to leave their children with relatives when they return to work, the extra time is probably necessary. There is also some extra time that can be used within the 1st year that is called "breastfeeding leave". Most use this time to travel back home to visit their children.

Very relevent lesson. Moving for the 3rd time in China next month. The 车费is very reasonable, it's all the add-ons that get you. 拆装 and 装起来 are good takeaways from this lesson.

I personally appreciate hearing a variety of voices. It is relatively easy for me to understand my Mandarin teacher's every word, but that doesn't help much when conversing with a total stranger. When I reach the point where I can criticize the way a native speaker talks, I'm done.

I just completed a lesson where 刺激 was used as "irritating or upsetting".

Is this word used more for positive or negative situations?

Just a note that 宣传is not taken as a negative word. It does look odd to see this in business documents translated into English.

Yes, you must sing. I am always humbled by the mix of simplified and traditional characters on the screen. For next year's holiday season I resolve to learn some popular Chinese songs. I am tired of singing the Carpenters and John Denver.
