while my Beijing published textbook suggested jǐyǔ as did my dictionary.

How do you think they pay for that fancy store and all the staff. ...and yes, it takes someone a long time to use up 500 RMB credit when haircuts are only 15 RMB.

January 21, 2014 at 3:49 AMUsefull new vocab for brakes and accelerator. Now I can help my wife complain about my driver. He has a habit of pulsing the 油门 on and off which makes people prone to motion sickness miserable. I have noticed this with other drivers, and was told they were taught this was a way to save gas.

January 7, 2014 at 3:41 AMMy current residence has a western kitchen and a chinese kitchen. The chinese kitchen has a sink, a food prep area, two big gas burners, and an oversized exhaust system. The western 烤箱 is so small that many normal sized pans and cookie sheets will not fit. We also have the UV sanitizer, which has never been used.

February 14, 2014 at 3:33 AMThe only time in eight years that my driver called in sick, he sent a text saying he had "loose bowels". Must have used the old Google translator. 拉肚子 sounds better, and no one is going to question that excuse.
