Concerning the sentence, "以关心老婆为荣,以忽视老婆为耻," is this something that people commonly say, or was this example just made up for the dialogue?

In the dialogue, "男人要以事业为重" is described as: "Men take their career as most important," but in the transcript as: "Men want their careers to be the most important." These are distinctly different. Which meaning is correct?

It seems to me I've heard "ornery" mostly in Warner Bros. cartoons.

"Ornery" is similar to "cranky," "grumpy," and "petulant," but a bit meaner. I didn't see the expansion sentence, but it seems unlikely to be appropriate for describing the behaviour of a boss.

Seconding wotingyu, the dialogue does seem to imply a gender-specific stench. First of all, I would like to say that in all my years I have never smelled a girl who seemed to stink from not having cleaned her nether regions, or from having her period or whatever. Is this something the writers have experienced, or was this just made up to be funny? I suspect I'm not alone in finding the suggestion offensive.

Secondly, if this dialogue is meant to draw attention to the overwhelming stench of a girl's nether regions, is there a Chinese word for such a thing?

What is the difference between 汗臭 and 狐臭?

Could someone say a bit more about the difference between 难闻 and 臭? In the dialogue, 油漆 and 汽油 were given as examples of 难闻; these are both dangerous to inhale. Does 难闻 imply a toxic substance that could cause damage if inhaled?
