That's excessive Chinese modesty. We feel like it's overconfidence, when at most, it's self-confidence. And furthermore, what other countries could develop for decades the way China has? We have every right to be self-confident. Look how lousy Wenzhou business people had it in the past. They got rich entirely by pulling themselves up by the bootstraps. Now they're rich, and they can buy whatever they like.
