Yeah. Before I went to Taiwan I did some research. In fact, Chiang Kai-shek's contributions to the people were pretty great. For example, when the country was being carved up by warlords at the end of the Qing Dynasty, he led an invasion into the north two times to unite China. Another example was his valuing of culture and education. And even at the end of his life he was still committed to the idea of one China, and that Taiwan should not be independent.
