July 27, 2007 at 12:38 AMJenny, John, Amber, Dave: I'm a little confused on "Xi Xin"... Amber is saying Xi4 Xin1 細心 (small heart) and Jenny is saying, Xi1 Xin1. 悉心。 John is saying, "detailed heart" and so clearly the world they're saying in the movie is 悉心。 I assume it doesn't really matter which word you say because the meaning of 悉心 and 細心 seem to be interchangeable, however it appears 悉心 would indicate a greater level of attentiveness. I'm wondering if you guys could lend any insight?

July 18, 2007 at 12:52 AMXuSheng: I'm not sure about 我非常忿怒了 vs. 气死了， I don't know if 气死了is more exclusively womens language or not, and I don't think I've ever heard anyone say, "我非常忿怒了", I thought people only say 忿怒 when their referring to a state of someone else getting mad, IE: "你這麽晚才回家了，你的老婆對你忿怒嗎？" Just wondering. By the way this lesson is among one of my very favorites, due in a large part to John's imitation, my wife listened to that and almost BUSTED A GUT! Just as a joke I said to one of my wife's friends, “你好討厭啊”(I didn't say it AT her, I just said it to my wife in FRONT of the friend) and she did a TRIPLE TAKE, looked at me really funny, I told her 一個學習中文的網站含有關於女性話的一門播課所以。。。" She immediately interrupted, "所以你學會了嗎？！ 哎呀你這個人啊" It was pretty hysterical!

The Advanced and Media lesson discussions are usually filled with high level Chinese, whereas you may feel more comfortable for right now, and have more fun participating in discussions on those boards.

December 7, 2007 at 12:46 AMHere's a crazy idea, why don't we have some kind of way to find all the Peter lessons and know which order they're supposed to be played in, using the Chinesepod search engine, searching "Peter" returns no results. During the Podcast John and Jenny say it's a series to learn business related terms so it would REALLY REALLY be helpful if we could sort through this stuff more easilly.
