I told my friends from China, who are mostly from a minority culture (non-Han) that I will go back to my home country and will have to eat "grass" again. That's how they think of our salads, that's basically what cows would eat... Like Inner Mongolians, they would not find enough meat in a Western European diet.

April 16, 2008 at 8:00 PMemberswift, here is my try about the 很多 and the 好多. I think the meaning is basically the same, but the hao gives a little bit more emphasis. It is, as you noticed, used a lot to replace the 很. As for the position, I think it would be correct to say 好多成语都是从... When there is the 他们 to replace the full subject, then the 好多 has to change position. Not sure my explanations make sense...
