April 9, 2008 at 7:08 AM坐火车比以前好多了.我还记1994年第一次想买火车票了. 那时候真买不到.排队了几次几个小时, 但是那个卖票的小姐就说没有, 这个真恨的词. 现在方便多了. 买票的人客气多了, 票也有火车比以前干净了. Oh, I could tell many train stories. One of the earliest (1995) and most unpleasant was, when after queueing for hours, I finally got a hard seat. It was an overnight train, and right after a 24 hour bus trip. I was exhausted and my bones were hurting. Squeezed in between lots and lots of people, I finally managed to fall asleep, when suddenly I was rudely woken up by a young Chinese man calling "hallo, hallo", until I noticed him. It was in the middle of the night in a crowded train. He was one of the standing passengers and wanted to practice his English! - I was less than pleased...

April 2, 2008 at 3:28 PMWhat's the "you" doing in this sentence structure? Is this is a common structure? Never paid attention to it before. I would have used "yong4" instead. Would that be a possible alternative? 这是由好几种材料合成的。 (This is composed of many different kinds of materials.)
