March 14, 2008 at 10:25 AMYes, I agree with Henning. It's kind of nice who 'avatars' get a voice and a real name and all. Enjoy your time in China. Any trips out west planned? I mean, China's 'xibu'...

March 14, 2008 at 9:34 AMNow, I am not sure about the Chinese being environmentally friendlier than the west. I have just arrived back in Europe and am astounded at the amount of time and effort that is put into producing in ways that are environmentally friendly, as well as how things can be disposed of in ways that are least wasteful and harming to the environment. I do not find this attitude in China. However, I do appreciate the fact, that people tdo dissect the things that get thrown away to reuse and fix what can be reused and fixed. I doubt that this has to do with attitudes towards the environment, but rather with a way to make a living.

March 21, 2008 at 10:09 AMI am learning English here. Never knew that we always do in China, is "to double someone". It's illegal, but usually it is enough to get off at the crossroads - where the little ladies with the flags and the whistles keep order - walk across the intersection and then get back on...
