July 17, 2010 at 9:18 AMA-ha! Keen observations people! I remember at my old canteen asking for 比萨 (as apposed to 披萨) for some kind of 并。
Also, I remember that KFC and McDonald's had different words for sundae - but I can't remember what they were...I think KFC used 圣代 shèngdài, and McDonald's used something else...

June 21, 2010 at 5:02 AMI was once delayed for 13 hours on a flight from Beijing to Shenzhen! (when it snowed in Beijing on the 1st of November 2009).
Also I once arrived late to the airport (no big deal in China, right?) and missed the only ever domestic flight that's ever departed on time, and I got slugged with a Y300 fee!
怎么办?

April 26, 2010 at 3:30 AM*Yes, thats what I meant, I couldn't find the ‘火’ in front of the ‘扁’ on my pinyin input system...still can't.
豆角 (dòujiǎo) also known as 云豆 (yúndòu) in some areas...agreed, doesn't matter what you call it, it's 好吃! (hǎochī)

April 16, 2010 at 1:03 PMI have just learned from John's blog at:
http://www.sinosplice.com/life/archives/2010/04/14/the-big-bang-theory-sheldons-chinese
That 长寿 (chángshòu) means 'long life'. So, I suppose that means I like 'long-life' nuts...

April 16, 2010 at 1:52 AM我很喜长寿果, 但是有一点儿贵。
wǒ hěn xǐhuān chángshouguǒ, dànshì yǒu yīdiǎnr guì.
I really like 'chángshougǒu' nuts, but they're a little bit expensive.
I think they taste a bit like chocolate!
