January 5, 2011 at 11:26 AMThis lesson contains so much (grammar, etc) for such a simple lesson!
First time I've heard 场 (chang3) being used as a measure word for 'occassions/performances'.
所以,可以说:'第一场我去北京。。。' 吗?(the first time I went to Beijing。。。). Or is something like 第一次我去北京。。。 more correct/natural? (Assuming I have employed the right grammar, and assuming that the first time you go somewhere is an 'occassion').

January 5, 2011 at 1:03 AMRespect.
And what are the chances of that happening? Maybe the future cricket lesson could be about match-odds (or match fixing) so as not to bore the 'cricket haters' out there.
Aren't there any English-Chinese Podders out there? Where's the Barmy Army when you need them?

January 4, 2011 at 12:32 PMI'm surprised you have this information (seemingly) off the top of your head. Well, you learn something new everyday!

January 4, 2011 at 12:16 PMDo they have Girl Scouts in China?

January 3, 2011 at 11:03 PMI want the lesson on cricket from a personal point of view, as is it of interest to me. My reasoning is, if they can do a lesson on Aussie Rules, surely they can justify a lesson on cricket - a more 'international' sport by comparison.
Besides, they only have to mention the word 'cricket' in the podcast, I'm sure the language they use (including the word 'boring') could be applied to any number of sports.

January 3, 2011 at 2:47 AMSeriously, how can you have an ice-hockey lesson over a cricket lesson?

January 1, 2011 at 3:18 AMIf the cricket is anything to go by, you would have to say...England.
Rule Britannia.

December 14, 2010 at 4:23 AM这个说发对,第一次我去中国(2006)排骨米饭砂锅5快, 现在最低的价格10快。猪肉越来越贵。
Even though the dialogue doesn't mention it, meat in particular is getting more and more expensive.
(Also, excuse my written characters, I am making a concerted effort to improve my writing!).

December 8, 2010 at 12:27 AMWow, can really 'hear' the 3rd tone in the word 'leng3' in the sentence ’北京的冬天又干又冷‘。
Must admit, my 3rd tone sounds nothing like that. Wish it did.
Also learnt a new word in 'ca1' 擦。
Good work (as usual).
