@euphonies,

Yes it feels very unnatural having to say all of these American terms! I have been doing some recordings for Englishpod- saying things like "candy" instead of "sweets" - it all sounds rather silly with my accent!!

I used to enjoy halloween a lot when I was a child, however going trick or treating never really worked where I was. I lived in a small English village full of old folk. Not only were there no other children to go trick or treating with ... but none of the old fogies understood what it was! I wish I had grown up where u had Sarahk!!

@Hebertinchina,

Thank you for pointing this issue out. I have now passed it onto the technical team who are sorting it out.

Ha! @Bodawei,

I was just describing what my friend had told me they do in America. We don't go trick or treating in England, so really have no idea about what happens in the tradition really!

@Shanpan,

Children ask for 'trick' or 'treat' - and the treats are usually sweets. If people do not provide sweets then the children sometimes tricks on them. For example my American friend said that he used to toilet paper people's houses if they refused to give them sweets!!

@shanpan,

Adults don't tend to go trick or treating, unless they are accompanying their children! It's something really that young children only do :)
