除了酒后驾车的问题越可见以外，吸毒后驾车也成现代社会常见的现象。

and I read somewhere purges within the red army from the time of the jiangxi/fujian base up to 1949 included a million or so as well. just as well, nothing better than a good purge to weed out the undesirables hampering the collective effort. of course there were also the odd million or two private citizens. many of whom, i read, were accused of being counter-revolutionary and capitalist landlords because they owned a pig or two, and weren't willing to share or make a contribution.
it's a good thing there were plenty of adolescent volunteers willing to sacrifice their lives carrying the leadership north on the long march, otherwise today's generation wouldn't be enjoying the freedoms and benefits they now have. and there would definitely be no aircraft carrier in the pipeline.
the leadership at the time had the guts to see to any problem hindering a glorious, harmonious, magnificent, and magnanimous, victory. regarding advancement in citizen prosperity, rights and freedom since being benevolently liberated, I think the past sixty years speaks for itself.

also, i often wonder, because of china's vast population and the difficulties faced by officials in keeping accurate records, how many accidents involving fatalities and severe injury go unrecorded.
