June 21, 2007 at 7:51 AM我跟你一起爬， 不过我没体力。 你们应该拉我。。。 I actually learn a lot from other students comments. Especially vocabs and characters (thanks to Man2Toe a& friends even traditional ones). I am actually not afraid anymore about picking up mistakes (as I used to be), because this is at best supplementary input.

I was a tester for a predecessor of the current Practice service about a year ago - it included corrections (actually it included everything). When I saw the workload that I generated for Aggie with my (short) written homeworks I realized that such a service can only come with a proud price tag. Back then I suggested that CPod should offer "written homework" as a paid service for defined units (i.e. correcting a 50 character homework). Similar to the current Practice service. I do not see any economic feasibility for a "Free correction of lesson comments" service. The answers from Amber, John and Jenny on user questions already way exceed expectations (although they are another reason why CPod stands out).

June 20, 2007 at 6:20 PMMy 2 year old can perfectly say 鱼肉 yúròu - including the correct tones. In German he compresses "Fisch" to "Fi" though, sometimes it even becomes "FiFi" (he loves the Chinese reduplications). At the dinner table he always demands "yúròu" from my wife and "Fi" from me.

June 23, 2007 at 9:57 AMThe two languages I know with "easier" grammer (English and to a much stronger degree Chinese) just tend to replace grammar (= reliable rules) with an abyss of idioms and exceptions. And I wouldn't joke openly about Klingon (ISO 639: tlh). Some of its native speakers are known for their short temper. :)
