September 14, 2007 at 7:29 AMJohn, 你真是万能的! You actually restored the complete message. Well, except for the line breaks :P Amber: Thanks. Pinyin conversion is hard work. Maybe that is why I so often rudely forget it, when posting in lower levels...

September 14, 2007 at 1:36 AMJohn, I send it via "CPod Message". As there isn't t yet anything like a "Sent-Folder" I do not have any access to it anymore. Only Amber can retrieve those faulty & clumsy Chinese lines now... But I am definately looking forward to Monday. @Jenny: I didn't even mention the best reasons to watch it, yet: Lighsabers. Robots. Spaceships!

September 13, 2007 at 5:07 PMDoc, yes! I can't wait. Holiday without kids. Bazza, Is send the message per CPod, so I have no copy of it. I gave a number of reasons, maybe the most important one being that one can only really understand us Westerners (esp. us western males) if you have seen this movie. So a definate *must* for anybody professionally dealing with this language.

September 13, 2007 at 12:46 PMI didn't expect that this one would be of any use to me once. I was dead wrong. The name of the young woman helping out in the household and looking after the kids here in Beijing is pronounced yang2 mei2. So during dinner I came up with this one: 草原上来了一群羊。 又来了一群狼。猜一个名字。 。。 That one *really* worked. Thanks!! :)

September 13, 2007 at 7:47 AMJUHU!! I haven't decided yet what award to choose, but I tend to "The Personal Fix" as I will book more practice sessions anyhow as soon as time permits.... My wife watched this very movie at the time the "special editions" was screening in all Multiplex cinemas. The way I convinced her was by promising to go shopping for clothes together. That deal costed some bargaining and the price was admittingly extraordinary high. But only that way she learned understanding our culture. And, yes, she really *enjoyed* the movie. [Do not ask her for her version of that deal, though]

September 12, 2007 at 9:27 AMArgh! 5 seconds. Not even 5 seconds until it was more than clear. You didn't even cut out the background music. @Amber: You will be drowned in emails this time. Way too easy. @Jenny: You just have to admit this is way better than 西游记. @all: This was a clue for all hardcore poddies.
