直到他去世的前一天，大家才知道他的真正病情，原来他怕大家伤心，把所有人都蒙在鼓里了。
Zhídào tā qùshì de qiányìtiān, dàjiā cái zhīdào tāde zhēnzhèng bìngqíng, yuánlái tā pà dàjiā shāngxīn, bă suŏyŏurén dōu méng zài gŭ lĭ le.
(Until the day before his death no one know the truth of his illness. It was because he was afraid everyone would be sad, so he kept them all in the dark.)
Yellowbridge translates 所有人 as "keeper", you translate it as "everyone". I wrote to Yellowbridge Support to see if they had made an error. Their response was:

Thanks for that. It makes sense I guess, I just need to slosh it round in my head a few times. Not sure though why 得 might imply a continuing action, and why 个 would not.
And sorry for changing my name just after posting - I should have done that first.
By the way, from the moment you mention 不停 in your post, the remainder of your message gives the mouseover definition for that word. I'm not sure how you managed to do that!

夸个不停。 (kuā ge bùtíng)
Why 个 ? Isn't this a measure word? But there is no noun here.
Wouldn't 夸得不停 (kuāde bùtíng) make more sense?

October 11, 2009 at 3:21 AMOk, just found Amber's earlier post where she says 还不是 (hái bú shì) means the same as 就是 (jiùshì). God knows why, but I'll just have to accept it. Still don't get the rest of the sentence though.
