大家好， 好久不见:-)

The expansion sentence: 那个酒吧乱七八糟的，我可不想去！Is the first time I saw 可 as particle used for emphasis... 

Is it very common? Are there special occasions where it is preferred to the use of 很，好， 真，...

Would 那个酒吧乱七八糟的，我真不想去. be absolutely the same or does it express e.g. more/less emphasis ...

Hello Mystic, maybe there are more differeces...but I think 真 is more intense than 很. Like in:

今天真热！Today it is very hot!

今天很热！Today it is hot! 

Sometimes 很 is even not really translated as "very"...more as a filler to complete the sentence. i think you can not say 今天热! Also when you say 我很好！ It does not have to mean "very good" it can just mean "fine/good". But with using 真 you always express something is "very", "extremely"...

Thank you for starting 把 lessons!!

It was especially interesting to get some information about when you should use 把 .

I often thought... well great I begin to understand the usage and rules but why should I use it if there is  aless complicated possibility to express it without 把 ...thought this mainly because I did some exercises in my grammar book asking me to "rewrite the following sentences using 把"...

Hi baha,

as we can not see any difference between the two 直

you typed, I think you maybe use different Chinese fonts in your computer.

Also for the three strokes in the short version of the water radical e.g. in 河 you sometimes see the bottom stroke more looking like a long hook ...Seems that for some radicals there are different ways to be "printed" or shown on screen... in different fonts.

Hope this was helpful... If you have more questions about simplified and traditional I recommend this homepage where you get good information about both for every character!

Ken says 路口 literally translated "street mouth" makes sense...

It makes even more sense translated in German... We can say for example:

Die Strasse mündet in einen Kreisverkehr.=

The street ends/leads in a traffic circle.

"münden" stems from the word der Mund = the mouth=口 :) ! (don't mix it up with "munden"= tastes good (food/drink) ;-))

Maybe not super useful information for Chinese learners...anyway...
