January 16, 2013 at 3:31 AMNext Monday is Martin Luther King's day and for one reason or another, gay rights have been associated with civil rights in the US. The young people here are for the most part, open and accepting about gays, I know this because my son joined a "Kiss a Gay Day" movement last year around this time, and my niece (heterosexual) declared herself as member of the International Gay & Lesbian Association in her local newspaper interview after she won a scholarship to Drexel University. They also overwhelmingly voted for President Obama in the last election.
I believe the trend will be more open mindedness in society about a person's sexual orientation and lifestyle.
