我只是在银行里看到挂着海报(oh, incidentally, 海宝 appeared first on my computer)。
I can only think of "in sixes and sevens"这个说法, 好像数字(in pairs)用得不怎么多。

我以为“这两天”不一定是 "two days", 而是广泛一点: "a few days", 比如,”这两天,我忙死了“ (I've been really busy these last few days/recently)。 那么,here it would be "who could've guessed they were going to attack us like this, during the last few days".

I am curious and amused:
我现在正在熬(or is it 煲)chicken stock (为了煲汤,=汤汁吗?),很期待等会儿吃 :)

谢谢你的说明,在我理解当中,英语的"formalism"或 "formality"这些词也会带有贬义的意思(比如官僚作风这种意思 —— though I'm not sure if I used 官僚作风correctly here).

@pretzellogic: in common law countries (like the U.S. GB etc) have the cross-examination as part of the trial, and this involves all the "I object", "overruled" etc. stuff. We don't have this in civil law (e.g. continental European legal systems) proceedings, at least as far as I know. China might have a procedural law closer to continental law, but I have no idea, all I know is that in some private (civil) law areas, China took over some of the European laws.

At the very end, Jenny says "hong1 long2".
And also "你不要 jiao1 坏大家!" What character is the Jiao1? (or is it 教jiao4 坏?)

(from the dialogue) 这个就做替补吧。
这两个 zuo4 我老是搞不清楚…… is there a rule?
