1) When B suggests they could "固定下来", could this also just mean "let's become more stable/get ourselves a stable job"? It's translated as "(let's) go legit(imate)". Does it necessarily have to mean to switch from a not very 合法 profession to a legitimate one?
2) "也是". A says this in the first dream (translated as "Yeah"). How/when is this used? Is it the same as 可不是，or 是啊, or are there subtle differences?

Usually a marriage in one country is (legally) recognized in an other country, I assume that would be true for China as well. Or else all the married expat couples here would be 同居 (aaargh, and then some locals and others would have a baaad opinion of 老外！)。

April 8, 2010 at 7:09 PMI have a question about "好了，就因为这个好几次都没被评上三好学生。" The translation says: It was over. Just b/c of this he wasn't awarded the "merit student" status more than a few times.
The way I understood it was that the guy never got the "merit student" status -> "Just because of this (就因为这个) he very often missed being / failed to be (好几次都没) nominated a "merit student".
哪个对？
And what about the "好了" here?
