miantiao,

mate,if they were to come referred by you, given your background and fine character, they'd be put at the top of the list. There has been concern about an invasion of our territory by aliens as it is currently unoccupied and undefended,so yeah, always looking for good recruits. As we have an independent economy we have not been affected by the current global crisis so I think they will find pay and conditions quite favourable. However,an ability to survive without oxygen would be a definite advantage to any applicant [and perhaps water, but we're waiting for verification on that front].

azzote,

hehe. You're right of course on that point.Well if I did concur,I would still expect 66.66% of the recognition and would only be willing to share 33.33% with you.But you'll still have to make your case for why having "san dianr shui" is no good.I'm just ignorant on this latter point.Pray tell.Actually I initially thought you were referring to 第三声,but on rereading I see it's "third water" ??...what do you mean by this ? I'd also like some evidence there is some water on Koronis as I don't want to be involved in any shonky advertising and give people false hope.Koronis is what it is.

azzote,

Thanks for your tips, but I have to politely decline and claim artistic licence for a couple of reasons.I am curious though about what the problem is in having "san dianr shui" ? But we from Koronis have never followed any conventions.

Firstly I decline because that would weaken my claim to being the first to transliterate the accepted form.

Secondly 泥 is not a choice I like for two reasons.Firstly Koronis is a group of asteroids and no-one likes the idea of living on muddy real estate [though I assent that there is a promising side to it in that it may suggest there is water there and that life may be sustainable].Secondly,if there is a suggestion that there is 泥 on Koronis,I wouldn't want it to then prompt people to wonder if there was life on Koronis in the form of the grass mud horse as that certainly is not the sort of thing that goes on in the UFK.I don't want there to be any association there.

Given that we were making a joke about starting our own micronations,I thought it was pretty obvious the discussion was a joke from the outset, which Pete was a good enough sport to go along with. The whole point of the ensuing joke was how one could get funded for such a notion and I thought in no way made any comment about ones real political viewpoints.Surely a joke should be recognised for what it is [and I'm confident the vast majority would have seen it for what it was].However I realise when we are not all native English speakers, and the joke is in English, that it would be easy to miss the fact that it is a joke and have the comments misconstrued,so I apologise to any who may have been offended by my comments also, even though you can rest assured, none was intended.I don't think we'd be here if we weren't interested in Chinese language and culture and hold it in high esteem. It seems a shame though if one has to be so incredibly careful about what one says, even when joking around, that one almost has to give up one's freedom of speech in order to avoid people being up in arms.Let's try and take things in the spirit in which they are intended.

糟糕,looks like someone has beaten me to transliterating Sealand [西兰公国].However,a Baidu search comes up with zippo for my other citizenship, the UFK.Is't possible there is something that I could be the first to transliterate into Chinese, and a nation at that?:

扩澳你 ...kuò ào nǐ ....Koronis [ The United Federation of Koronis ]

Breakdown:

扩...enlarge [as in enlarge your horizons]

澳....Australia [as UFK is currently uninhabitable, government offices have been established in Australia]

你...you too can join our friendly nation [for a fee of course ]

Will China recognise my Principality of Sealand passport [issued to me personally by Prince Roy Bates ] when I apply for a visa?:

[image removed because it was throwing malware errors in browsers]

..or if that's not accepted then I hope they will recognise my citizenship of the Empire of Atlantium as we believe in unrestricted International Freedom of movement. Finally,if none of these are accepted,do you have any tips on what would be accepted if I were to start my own Micronation?
