mikeinewshot,
Thanks for confirming 俗语.Interesting that perakin has 俗 as meaning vulgar, though I take it that 俗语 is not necessarily vulgar at all.Examples of 俗语 would be great [but perhaps I'll just have to keep my ear out for them in the Intermediate lessons ]

I use mdbg online dictionary, but found the trial popup version of mdbg slowed down my computer at startup as it had to load each time [seemed to be doing this via the internet...or maybe it was requiring the internet to verify something].Do you know if this occurs when you buy the full version?

June 4, 2009 at 1:28 PMI was just thinking recently how there used to be grammar option type questions, and lo and behold here's an example [ exercise 1 ] in this lesson.I think it's a good idea having grammar exercises [though they were a bit easy in this lesson ].Is it just older lessons that had 'em.If so,why were they stopped?
btw, exercise 3 doesn't seem to be working. Not sure if it's being fussy on how the phrase is dragged to the box or not.

June 4, 2009 at 12:50 PMCan anyone please explain the 吧 at the end of this sentence from the expansion:
你久等了吧?
I understand 吧 to be more of a polite suggestion than a question about something that has already occured.吗 would have made sense to me here.

June 4, 2009 at 7:24 AM..and if you try to too quick without O2 you may just end up in a Gamow bag:

..not too different from a straight jacket if you ask me.Ah,it's lonely at the top I believe,so lets enjoy the magnificent scenery on the way.
ps If the Japanese legend Yuichiro Miura can climb Everest for the 2nd time at age 75 [same guy who skied down Everest in 1970] then I think Chinese can be taken on at any age too.
