zhenlijiang,

Great idea;I'd love to get my hands on a Chinese version of Alice in Wonderland.Maybe I could find it online.

Yes,I always thought it was historically from mercury poisoning. So perhaps the headband in your other persona [a multiple personality disorder is not surprising in the mad hatter] as shown in your avatar also contains mercury.Perhaps when Tripitaka starts praying and your headband tightens,it not only gives you a headache, but also increases the absorption of the mercury and thus pacifies/forces you to submit.Aah ta ta ta ta.

hmm,maybe I should check what's eminating from my 帽子,哈哈

John's confession of 偷偷的可能吃巧克力 reminds me of a funny clip on funniest home video where these 2 very young kids were absolutely positively denying eating any chocolate and they both had rings the whole way around their mouths of melted chocalate.Poor kids were set up I'd say, hehe.

Mikeinewshot,

I'm sure your being modest/underestimating,but I do dread plateauing...

I love the last bit of A's last line:

特别是dot dot dot.

...was he really going to name B on their first date? before she jumped in and saved a potentially awkward moment?

I'm wondering about the difference between 本人 和 自己?

Calkins,

Yeah, fine mate.I'll just have to manage to drag myself away from all these fascinating community discussions for long enough to get a chance to listen too.

mikeinewshot,

Thanks for indulging me mate with such a great and insightful/detailed answer.I suspected that would be the order of difficulty, though I was particularly interested on where you'd put Russian compared with Chinese [and how close it would be in difficulty to Chinese].I like your rating scale;very informative.

Calkins,Sebire,

I think I'll join you in starting this series as I enjoy a good series and it's cool to know others are looking at it afresh.我听听一下。

RJ,

"generous to a fault"

...就是[exactly...(I love that word) ].I recently discovered a corner store in my suburb run by a lovely Chinese couple.Yesterday I asked them..你们有没有奶茶?”[do you have milk tea?] and they didn't have any but insisted that if I returned today they'd have some.I thought...gee,that's impressive and confident ordering.Anyway, thought I'd better rock up today and they immediately took me to the fridge and got out the only bottle [a large one] of the milk tea they had hidden at the bottom of the fridge and informed me they'd gone into Chinatown [about a 15min drive when no traffic] to get it for me and no matter what I said or tried refused payment saying "我送给你” [ I treat you].Then they started dishing out free lollies to the kids, all with so much smiles and laughter.I feel so lucky to have met such delightful people who are also quite patient as I request my purchases in Chinese.

Every day is an adventure in Chinese for me at whatever opportunity I can find, but of course CPod has been by far my greatest adventure.多谢你们 [many thanks to you]
