In the sentence:

昨天有一场很精彩的比赛，那最后是谁赢了呢？

...I'm wondering about the use of 呢 instead of 吗 here.Could either have been used?

Also,in the comparison between:

我去看了很多房子，可是最后决定不买了。

and...

我去看了很多房子，但是最终决定不买了。

..was it significant or not that 可是 was changed to 但是. i.e. is there a preferential collacation going on,or did it not really matter?

Well explained re 终于。

Could someone explain the repetition of 等 in the sentence?:

我等你等了很久了，你终于来了。

I notice this type of pattern recurs in"

排队排了

..seems to be that it refers to the action with the first mention,and then on the second action adding the le seems to be a way of showing it as a completed action..dui bu dui?

Great classic dialogue.Love the “鲤鱼，鲤鱼” potential misinterpretation,lol.鲤鱼是只爸爸可以爱：

I love this expression: 独一无二 ..only one not too...really spells it out for unique.

I thought the tortoise was revered not just for it's longevity ,but also because its carapace represented the heavens or something like that.Has anyone else heard anything along those lines?

大哥 seems like a pretty natural way to address a bloke who has just called you 小姐...small [older] sister [ok I have to presume in the case of this lesson].

I had to go back and have another lesson when I read that shenyajin was the voice of the waitress..well done.

I met someone the other day from Harbin who was absolutely lovely,so I'd have to agree with comments about friendliness,but then again I'd say that about the Chinese I've met in general anyway.

Good idea mate [and thanks for your kind comments...欢迎来 CPod...it's great to have a new enthusiastic positive Poddie on the boards],though 2 things would probably happen when I get a call if that was my ringtone.Firstly I'd be more likely/tempted to answer in Chinese [heck..I must confess I can't help myself sometimes and at least start with a 喂 ..though it is considered a little 奇怪，哈哈】 and secondly,I'd be disappointed when it wasn't CPod on the line.可是,I'd get used to it.其实,the start of the CPod lessons does sound familiar.Does anyone know the name of the tune and where it comes from?
