Thanks for your suggestions and links.I'm interested in looking into all these things at some stage,but feel that at this stage it may be a little premature to get into that.As the first article says:
"A major drawback to learning Wubi is its learning curve"
...I wouldn't mind having a little play around with it though.
I wonder how it compares with bopomofo,which from my understanding is more widely used in Taiwan.

Thanks heaps for that.I went onto Amazon to look for it and it led me to this site where I entered the ISBN number you kindly provided but it came up with zippo.So maybe it's outta print,or more likely I need to navigate an equivalent Chinese site.Is there an equivalent Chinese site to Amazon?

没问题[no problem].As others have said before me,it isn't true altruism at all;it really is a good exercise anyway[and it's not a patch on Raygo's sterling efforts...I've only translated the basic sentences..the banter is a lot harder in the Intermediates than this] and I'm finding with Google pinyin input it is way faster;very happy camper.Just hope there's no mistakes [I think I missed a word or two in Jenny's Jay Chou sentence],so the usual caveat applies.I think you're the one that deserves the pat on the back here as I find the pinyin a bit more tedious/hard work.Good on ya mate.

June 12, 2009 at 1:14 AMI too never doubted Amber and nor did I feel it was any of my business or that I was entitled to an explanation.I think whatever has transpired between Amber and Praxis should be left at that.Most people change jobs at some point,these things are never easy,and I'm very glad to hear Amber can now pay the rent.As much as we all miss her,I'm just very grateful for the wonderful contributions she made to this site which I can continue to enjoy via the archive.I think it's a shame she's been put in a position where she has had to disclose her personal life in order to defend herself.I believe in having faith in her and respecting her privacy.I thank her and wish her all the very best.

When you say:

..I presume you mean the from the vocab saved from the lessons and not from QW flashcards you made.i.e.you can't add audio to flashcards you make on this site can you?
I checked out the vocab export function on the weekend just out of interest [though I mainly intend to use the new app for flashcards].FAQ advises to use the CSV as its supposedly simpler and only use XML for more advanced users.However I agree RJ,while I got the CSV to open in Excel the table it produced had chopped the words into two fields with gibberish inbetween,Whereas the XML produced a lovely coherent table with no problems at all.I never have cause to use Excel,but had no trouble ,so maybe give that one a shot mate. :)

You're right of course.When you make your own flashcard there is no field for adding audio and I hadn't added the tone marks to the pinyin so I presumed wrongly about the audio,but it did work when I followed your suggestion.
