谢谢你的说明。其实，I honestly thought the 太 was wrong to add as I've never seen it used that way before and it felt wrong but I thought I'd try it anyway and couldn't think of a better way to say exactly what I was trying to say.So thanks for confirming my suspicions and pulling me up on it.Just watched "Meet the Robinsons" with my kid and the main character was congratulated on his mistakes as it was pointed out there was not much to learn from getting things right.As they say in the flick: keep moving forward.对不起大家为我的英文。

lol.Don't recall that line but it's a beaut alright.I should check local library and see if they have any old Mae West films.Recently been renting any Chinese DVD's I can get my hands on.
Yeah,I've heard buddy used in all sorts of situations including parent to child and even between spouses [usually friendly :) ]
ps Yeah RJ, WC Fields was a classic alright.He could play ping pong too so perhaps he would have gotten on ok in China.My old man used to have a poster hung up of WC Fields with the quote "any man who hates dogs and children can't be all bad".I had to look at that for several years as a young kid.Don't know if he was trying to tell me something,hehe. :)

Talking of honey and the skill of the user reminded me of Mae West.Now she really had a way not only with words but the whole body language/tone thing,as in:
Oh, Miss West, I've heard so much about you. "Yeah, honey, but you can't prove a thing."

June 22, 2009 at 11:19 AMTalking of ATM incidents reminds me of a scene from LA story where there is a line up for the ATM of users and a line up of robbers and Steve Martin is greeted by this guy saying "Hi,my name is Bob.I'll be your robber".All conducted in a very civilised business like manner.
I'm wondering when it comes to using your card how one says "savings" and "credit" and request "cash out" [Jenny's comment duly noted..worth knowing].

I love the use of 这 in expressions like 你这孩子！..which John has pointed out before.hehe.I'd love to use that expression a bit.

Another great lesson,not only entertaining,but also great vocab and grammar points exceptionally well taught.I wish I had known 我是说 yesterday.Anyhow,I can certainly see that one coming in handy.Yeah,also love the最近在哪儿发财呢？
