多谢为你的奖 【many thanks for your encouragement]...and understanding.I understand that people at this level want to keep it in Chinese.The thing is that some of these higher lessons [this one being a case in point] are particularly interesting from the cultural viewpoint [not just the language] and there is much to be learnt and discussed ,even for those of us whose language skills aren't at this level and thus find it hard to express important but more complex ideas clearly in Chinese.I appreciate the higher level learners tolerance and understanding of this.I certainly won't be one to suggest making any of these levels easier in any way for those like myself who aren't up to it language wise.

Yeah,I've found that if you try to say cesuo 厕所 with the c having more of an s sound,than it won't be accepted.As juzi says,it really is a "ts" sound.

You are quite right that "yao4" means "want".If you look back to the Intro 5 lesson,I think you will see that it is "you3" that means "have".Very easy to mix these 2 up when you're starting out.IHTH :)

Ah yes,that's better and what I meant [as I got it from the UI lesson Choosing a name for baby where it had been translated as please everyone give me some pointers].Don't know why it came out that way or why there was a typo and missed the 能.Hehe,when I saw that expansion sentence,it was yet another case of ...if only I'd known to come out with that back then...

I listened to several versions of this on the net,all very nice,but found it difficult to find the section of this long tune that exactly matched,but in this tudou version it sounds like the intro section starts at about 55seconds.

Thanks for that.Yes,that's more or less what I learnt a long time ago.I thought it was common knowledge,at least amongst the Chinese.I just recalled where I think I may have read it.I think it was in a book I read a few years ago about the I Ching.Ah yes,just found it;it was in a book about the I Ching.Gotta go now ,but if I get a chance I'll post more about it later.
