Now you are too kind mate.Actually though,some things do upset me.I can't recall anything upsetting me quite as much as the time I watched the movie "Blood Diamond".Things that involve cruelty esp to kids upset me.What was worse in this movie was the brainwashing and corrupting of these kids and the fact that it was meant to be based on a true story.Also,naturally one is protective of one's family so anything that threatens or upsets them is upsetting.Beyond that I think life is too short to be taken too seriously.I'd rather laugh given the chance. I must admit that I'm of the same mindset as Bob...I really can't imagine it upsetting me.Having said that I completely accept what I think is a very valid point you make...I have neither lived there nor experienced what you describe and I believe the brief experience of a tourist is entirely different to one who knows one is there for the long haul,and the context of social supports,security,etc are worlds apart in the two groups.Also everyone's individual circumstances and experiences are going to differ and affect their viewpoint.So I feel I will sit back and listen and can see what can be learned from the likes of yourself who are generous enough to open up and share your experiences.Thanks for sharing mate.

hang on. The vocab tab had 守妇道 translated as "must" whereas the rollover in the dialogue tab has it translated as "behave like a proper woman" which seems closer to a literal translation and more likely correct.I s'pose "must" is still somewhat in keeping with this but doesn't seem to convey the full meaning [and there are other words that could be used if one only wanted to convey the idea "must"]. Can anyone confirm this?

I love the breakdown of this word:

守妇道..must

守..to abide by the law

妇..woman

道..way

..to abide by the laws of womens ways....no question about it,this is a must.

Reminds me of "Rumpole of the Bailey" and his expression "she who must be obeyed",hehe.
