as far as I know: 条 tiáo (一条裤子).
In German we use, as you said, often the plural for trousers, they are considered as a pair.

yes, they maybe really never were washed, for generations ... “Lederhosen” are made of leather. Mine were pants made of very thick leather, very stiff, the color something between grey, green and brown. Not necessarily the dream of a 5 year old girl;-)

March 7, 2009 at 5:01 AMAt the age of 5 years I sometimes had to wear a short "lederhose" which looked like the ones of the guys on the fotos. I remember it was extremly durable and it never had to be washed. I had it from my older brothers or cousins and after me my sister had to wear it.

March 6, 2009 at 2:39 PM40 hours before I moved towards China last year I have been to the Oktoberfest, together with my husband. A relocation company had already come and taken our stuff and our apartment was empty except of the sleeping bags, nothing to eat and to drink. So in the evening we went the 150 km from our town to Munich where we had some beer and not sausauge and sauerkraut but brezel and grilled fish. It was fun!

February 9, 2009 at 3:12 AM在我的词典里， "血" 有两个发音: "xue4" 和 "xie3"。在今天的 pdf 里头，大部分用的是 "xue4": 血脂 xue4zhi1，血压 xue4ya1，心血管疾病 xin1xue4guan3 ji2bing4。
但是刘医生说 "一个月后，再验个血" 这句话的拼音写的是 "xue3"。这是个 typo 吧?

January 21, 2009 at 1:09 AMI wonder to what degree poems like this are part of the 'normal' education. Once I met a little Chinese girl who at the age of maybe 3 or 4 started to recite Tang poems. Her family seemed to be very proud of her. It was interesting for me to see. Probably the child didn't care so much about the meaning when memorizing the poem ... but maybe this will come later.

hmm... where the measure word 条tiáo for 裤子 kùzi comes from, I don’t know. In movies about ancient China I see people often wear long dresses … 条tiáo seems to indicate something long... What I find interesting is that you can also say 条tiáo for bigger dogs, for the very small ones you can use the measure word 只 zhī.
