谢谢你们关于垃圾处理费的解释，Pete 和 John。这里的谈话也很有趣，谢谢大家！
现在才知道这些收回垃圾的破烂车的录音广播说什么！是不是他们到处都用一样的广播，不管在上海还是在北京。

现在还有个问题，如果我比如说把旧的要扔的洗衣机给他让他回收，是我要交费还是他把洗衣机从我那儿买，给我付钱，还是这个回收服务是免费的。这回收垃圾的人怎么生活!?

今天的课很有意思。在德国我给外国学生上德语棵，有时也谈起关垃圾的问题。有的学生觉得，关于垃圾处理的规定有点复杂。如果把垃圾乱扔也容易会引起邻居的不高兴。
在德国家里一般要垃圾分类，比如废纸，玻璃，生物垃圾(水果皮等等),包装材料等，还有别的垃圾，一般不要放在一起扔。垃圾袋也最好不要在楼房里走廊或别人门口那乱放。
住在德国一般要交垃圾处理费. 所以垃圾是比较有意思的题目。
在中国，私人一般交垃圾处理费吗?

I often heard that the communication style in China tends to be more reserved or "indirect" than for example the German style (if there is something like that). I am not sure whether I can agree on that, maybe it depends on the circumstances and what part of the communication you look at. And an office where your boss is around is a different place than a private talk to your colleague. From the Chinese people I've met I don't have the impression that they are "passive", many of them seem to be very ambitious and "active" to me.

In times like this I remember the words of my father more than 20 years ago. He tried to encourage me to study more by saying that knowledge or what you carry in your head is the only thing that cannot so easily be taken away through economical breakdowns. Material things or money could be lost more easily than the things you learned before. And it would be a big help to stay healthy.

As my father was a refugee due to world war II and lost everything I understand this point of view. Unfortunately I didn't really follow his suggestion and I hope I will do better with ChinesePod and learn more useful things. I just came here 1-2 weeks ago and I like it very much.

thank you very much for your explanation about the tones! The "search" function led me well to the tone rule #2, where the tone changes for "bu" are explained.

I also remembered that the tones with yi 一 can change, but I don't know details.

Sometimes I think it might also be helpful not always to concentrate too much on single tones and over that to forget the prosody or intonation of the whole sentence.

How do you pronounce 不过, in the vocabulary list we have bùguò, but it sounds like búguò. (And this is how I learned it before, I heard that "bu" sometimes can change the tone. Does that frequently happen?)
