What is the meaning of 配 exactly, and what is it doing?

Regarding the format of the transcripts of Qing Wen lessons, I would like to say that I very much appreciate when the Chinese host's Chinese explanations are transcribed and translated, as here. Some lessons have very little of that. I find it quite useful. 

May I suggest that you break up two words next to each other, so that when people read the PDF without listening (such as when previewing or reviewing) they don't get confused? For example, in this lesson, "给给予" could be written as "给 / 给予,"  "gěi jǐyu" as "gěi / jǐyu" and "give" as "give / give." As it is, "给给予" looks like it is all one word, "give." That is what I thought when I first looked at it, that 给给予 is a special, three-character form of 给.

(Sorry, the accents on the "yu"s above seem to have disappeared in the copy-pasting.)

At the end of this lesson, there was a request for Qing Wen lesson topics. I have requested many Qing Wen topics in the past, most of which have not been covered. There was also a whole thread with pages and pages of suggestions some time ago. I don't know where that is, and couldn't find it last time I looked. 

Tom, Vera, where would you like Qing Wen lesson topic requests to be submitted? I have many.

给予

In this lesson, Tom and Vera both pronounce this word gěiyǔ. The transcript reads jǐyǔ. The dictionary says jǐyǔ. The Chinesepod glossary has sentences with this word spoken sometimes as gěiyǔ, sometimes as jǐyǔ, depending on the speaker. (Also, most of the audio for these sentences does not appear to be working.)

Could you please explain what is going on with the pronunciation of this word?

I have also come across the phrase "抬胳膊" in the context of a mother getting a kid dressed and putting on their shirt. I found this useful in helping me to understand 抬.

More errors in the transcript. 

有两个比较像的词语“提”和“拎”

yǒu liǎng gè bǐjiào xiàng de cíyǔ“ tí” hé“ līn”

Two words that are pretty much the same are "tí" and līng".

拎 transcribed in some places as līn, elsewhere as līng. Tom spells out the word as "l-i-n-g," but the dictionary says it's "l-i-n." 

I would like to know why every transcript I come across seems to have errors these days. It's getting so that I don't have the energy to post comments to point out all the errors. What is the reason? 

Also, when I point out that there are errors in the transcript (or someone else does), staff usually say "thank you, it's fixed now." But I, and probably many others, receive our podcasts through iTunes or similar, and so the document that remains linked with the audio file is the original, even if we download a new, corrected file and keep it in our records somewhere (unless there is a way to substitute files from the computer into a podcast feed, and even so, I suspect that most people would be as ignorant as I am about such a function, and the problem would remain for most users).

Honestly, if any of the staff have time to address this issue, I would like to know the reason for the lack of quality control, and if the issue is being addressed.
