March 29, 2013 at 2:29 AMWe were going to put that song into the podcast as background music, but 徐洲 couldn't find an MP3 of the song. Oh well.

March 27, 2013 at 1:56 AMI learn something new in most lessons, Intermediate and above, even if only something tiny. Oftentimes we go into a topic or a grammar point really in depth as preparation for a podcast, and I learn a fair amount in that, but then the tricky stuff gets simplified out in order to deliver a level-appropriate podcast. Also, having lived in China so long, I have a pretty good vague "sense" for the language (语感), so a lot of times it's just making a vague feeling more concrete.
Whatever the case, I'm committed to continually learning throughout my life... Even if I were to memorize the thickest chengyu dictionary (and I certainly wouldn't!), there would still be new internet slang every year (and, indeed, every week, if you really look).
This is all part of the job that I love!

April 4, 2013 at 4:46 AMMost recent Qing Wen lessons have been at the Intermediate level and above. But that's not always the case. The difficulty picks up a bit with Part 2, so hang in there!
