當我中國朋友請我一起去酒吧的時候，我總是不容易的發現在中國《酒吧》不只是所謂西方傳統酒吧的意思，在中國《酒吧》也可以是夜店、酒館等等的意思。我覺得中國夜店很奇怪，裡面沒有為了讓客人跳舞而設置舞台、舞池，反而客人就是可以坐沙發喝酒看專業舞者的表演。

January 5, 2015 at 6:23 AM待字是個多音字。The character 待 has more than one tone. 待1，stay。待4，wait， treat， handle。 呆，stay， foolish，stupid， expressionless， blank。Both 待1 and 呆 can be used in the context of staying somewhere for a period of time.
Some word phrases containing each of the three that may help:
待1會兒，in a moment, later. Although pronounced in the first tone, the meaning of this phrase can be used in two different contexts, either to wait or stay a short period of time. 呆會兒，is interchangeable with 待會兒。這地方景色好美，我們先呆會兒拍照走一走，好不好？ 不好意思，我有來電，請待會兒，我馬上回來。You can use both and only a 愛挑剔的人(挑剔 tiao1ti: nitpick, fussy) will pull you up for using 呆 in the context of waiting.
等待4， wait， await。你一直等待幹嘛！時光已過不再有。
對待4， treat， approach， handle。根據心理學， 孩子怎麼對待動物就表示其個性有沒有暴力傾向。（bao4li4: violent. qing1xiang4: tendency, ).
發呆，stare blankly, lost in thought. 他自從被解職都在躺著床上望天花板發呆。
