Sadly, I don't have any plans in the near future : ( I am so envious of the poddies that have been, thus my immense curiosity in their visits.

I wanted so much to go to Orlando to meet Jenny, but just couldn't make it work out this time. Sputnik/goulniky posted so poignantly recently. That there is this odd one-way intimacy we faithful form through daily contact via the podcasts that cause us to long to see the CPod staff as if we're old friends that have not seen one another for years. Odd yet somehow very sweet.

I went awhile ago, in February. I met up with Colleen, John, Dave and Ken. It was a lot of fun. Do you plan to visit China sometime soon?

I am very sorry to hear that Xiao Xia is leaving and I wish her the very best in her next job.

Can't she work remotely for Chinesepod and only show up a few times a week in the office?

Anyway, perhaps we can turn Xiao Xia's leaving into a lesson. I asked a Taiwanese colleague how to express in Chinese my sentiments about Xiao Xia's leaving (e.g. I am sorry to learn that she is leaving). He said that there is no Chinese-equivalent for expressing this Western sentiment.

So John, how does say this kind of thing in Chinese. I thought of saying 不好意思 upon learning of Xiao Xia's impending departure. But I was told that this would be an incorrect thing to say.

Have you visited the CPod mecca! Really? How was it? How come you weren't mentioned?

Henning- there is. We took the steps going up as we didn't know about it, but someone suggested taking the lift back down as a cultural experience. It's this old relic plus It's pretty hilarious to have an elevator operator for a two or three-story building.

Nice pictures sputnik, can you go to the top of the Pearl tower? :)

Good luck, Xiao Xia. Like AZERDocMom, I often listened to the advanced lessons despite my poor comprehension skills, and I suspect it's just because you both make the language sound so beautiful.

I am saddened to hear of your departure. Even though most of the time, I could only understand much less than half of the advanced lessons, I still enjoyed your explanations and your soothing voice. Thank you for sharing your love of the Chinese language with all of us. I wish you great success and contentment in the future : ) If you are ever in Arizona, please do not hesitate to get in touch (and I really mean that !)

There is a lift? We took stairways.

I said a few words about my visit, I can't reveal the secrets of podcast making right? I will say they're in a former factory building where, from the outside, the last thing you'd expect is a Web2.0 company of ChinesePod fame (they certainly don't have a name plate and the lift is a well kept secret, but there is a lady operating it ;-). Once inside, it does look a lot like the posh digital agencies I'm dealing with in London. I only took a few pictures though, was too busy enjoying myself :-) That's not counting the dozens of high rise buildings, markets etc. I shot (comments in French, also needs tidying up, sorry)
